Dr Pulak De has spent nearly five decades practising, teaching, and leading in mechanical engineering. His career has moved fluidly between deep technical work, complex project delivery, and building organizations that endure.

He read Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, graduating with a B.Tech (Hons), and went on to earn a Ph.D. in the discipline. That combination — a strong theoretical foundation with decades of hands-on industrial experience — remains the hallmark of his professional style.

As Chairman & Managing Director of De's Technico Limited, Dr De oversees the company's engineering practice and long-term direction. He is known among colleagues and customers for clarity of thought, a steady demeanour, and an unwavering commitment to doing engineering properly.

Beyond the day-to-day, he mentors younger engineers and entrepreneurs, sharing hard-won lessons from a career that has spanned generations of change in Indian industry.
